Drawn in the spirit of the classical gaffers of the early 1900s, Jody is Whisper Marine's 18-foot daysailer for owners who want varnished wood, a low, easy sheer, and a cabin that looks like it belongs on a chart from a century ago -- built with the materials and methods of this one.

Below decks, Jody carries a high-end wood interior: hand-finished trim and cabinetry built to the same craftsmanship standard as the finest classic-yacht restorations. And she solves the one problem every varnished boat owner knows -- instead of a fixed finish that has to be sanded and revarnished in place every year, Jody's cabin siding is built from removable, bolt-on wood panels. Unscrew them at the end of the season, refinish them on your own schedule in your own garage, and skip the yard bill and the weather delays.

Under the varnish, Jody is thoroughly modern. Her hull and cabin structure are built from CNC-cut, fiberglass-reinforced Coosa board -- a flat-panel construction method that trades the weight and unpredictability of a traditional wood-and-mold build for precision, consistency, and a boat that goes together like it was engineered to. It's classic styling backed by a hull that's stiffer, lighter, and built to hold its shape for decades.

Jody is the shorter-cabin variant in Whisper Marine's 18-foot family, sized for a daysailer that's easy to single-hand and quick to rig, with a longer-cabin sibling available for owners who want more room below. A shallow-draft centerboard keeps her trailerable and gunkhole-friendly, while her classical proportions -- gaff rig, wineglass transom, low cabin trunk -- keep her looking right at home next to boats built eighty years before her.

Jody isn't a boat that tries to look old. She's a boat built the way the old ones should have been, if the builders had had the materials we have now.
